Push Waste FAQs
Q. What is a push waste?
It is a type of sink or basin waste that opens and closes with a simple push, providing easy control over water drainage.
Q. How does a push waste work?
It functions by pressing a button to control the drain. Beneath the visible cap, a brass push button is connected to the main body. Additionally, a rubber seal prevents water from escaping. Press the button once to open the drain, and press it again to close it.
Q. Is a brass push waste better than steel push waste?
Yes, because brass is more durable and resistant to wear. Furthermore, it has an extra advantage over steel because it doesn’t rust. Steel waste can rust over time, making it difficult to remove without damaging the sink. However, with brass, this issue doesn’t arise.
Q. What are the dimensions of the push waste?
SaniTecH manufactures two types of push wastes: 4-inch long and 6-inch long
Thread Dimension: G1-1/4″
It is advised to use it with a bottle trap.
Q. Can it fit with any basin sink?
Yes. It can fit with any basin sink because standard hole sizes are used by all ceramic sink manufacturers. The only issue one can face, in rare cases, is with some designs of the ceramic sink in which the diameter of the hole is not the problem but the length might be. In that case, using 6-inch waste solves the issue.
Q. What if its push mechanism fails?
If the push mechanism stops working, you can fix it by replacing the push button. Begin by removing the waste from the basin sink. Next, unscrew the visible cap by turning it counterclockwise. Then, use a spanner to remove the old push-button, replace it with a new one, and reassemble the waste with the basin sink.
Q. Is it easy to clean? And after how long should I clean it?
Yes, the removable visible cap makes it simple to clean and maintain. Clean it regularly every few months to keep it functioning properly and prevent clogs.
Q. Why does the drainage slow down over time?
The accumulation of hair, soap scum, and debris, over time, restricts the water flow. Therefore, it is generally required to clean push wastes after every few months. If the usage is frequent, cleaning it every month or fortnight is recommended as it would ensure the smooth working of the product.
Q. What should I do if my push waste leaks?
Identify the leak points. It may occur either at the top when pressing the visible cap or at the connection point where the waste is tightened to the basin sink. For the first case, replacing the rubber seal beneath the cap should stop the leak. For the second case, tightening the connections or replacing the washers will quickly resolve the issue.
