Double Bowl Sink Mixer FAQs

Q. What is a double bowl sink mixer?

It is a deck-mounted mixer that effectively combines the functions of two mixers into one. Therefore, it is particularly ideal for double bowl sinks, as it allows both bowls to be used simultaneously. Moreover, each side of the mixer operates independently, which not only enhances the functionality of the sink but also improves the overall efficiency of your kitchen.

Q. How does the Twin mixer work?

The SaniTecH Twin mixer features two 35mm ceramic cartridges. It includes two inlets and two outlets. Initially, hot and cold water enters through the respective tee cocks. Subsequently, the water flows through the pipe connections into the mixer. From there, it is supplied to each of the ceramic cartridges. Each cartridge allows for precise control of the hot and cold water mixture through its brass lever handles. Finally, the mixed water is directed to the respective spouts (necks).

Q. What are the benefits of SaniTecH Double Bowl Sink Mixer - Twin?

The main benefit of this mixer is that it provides two separate outlet streams of mixed water. This mixer is useful for the following scenarios:

  • It can provide hot water to the left bowl
  • It can provide cold water to the left bowl
  • It can provide mixed water to the left bowl
  • It can provide hot water to the right bowl
  • It can provide cold water to the right bowl
  • It can provide mixed water to the right bowl

In other words, you can use both bowls of the sink with a single product.

Q. How is Twin Mixer different from other Two-handle deck mixers?

The Twin Mixer features two inlets: one for hot water and one for cold water. It mixes the water independently in two separate cartridges, providing streams of water at different temperatures.

In contrast, other two-handle deck mixers typically have just one inlet for water, either hot or cold. These mixers simply divert the incoming water to the outlets. Because there is only one inlet, mixing does not occur, and the temperature of the water at the inlet and outlet remains the same.

Q. Why should I consider a double bowl sink mixer?

A double bowl sink mixer offers convenience for multitasking in the kitchen, such as washing dishes in one bowl while rinsing vegetables in the other.

Q. Can I install a double bowl sink mixer in any kitchen?

Indeed, you can install the mixer in any kitchen, provided that the piping system is positioned under the double bowl sink. Double bowl sinks typically have a standard hole size of 35mm for mixers, so the Twin Mixer can be easily installed in this configuration.

Q. Can I use double bowl sink mixer with a single bowl sink?

Yes, you can use a double bowl sink mixer with a single bowl sink, but it is not ideal. Double bowl mixers are designed for two separate bowls, so using one with a single bowl sink means you won’t fully utilize the mixer’s capabilities. The mixer will work, but you’ll miss out on the functionality and efficiency that a double sink setup provides. For optimal use and convenience, a single bowl sink mixer is the better choice.

Q. What should I do if I notice a leak in Double Bowl Sink Mixers?

It is best practice to turn off the water supply to the leaked fittings. Water dripping can damage the tiles and marble in kitchens.  Afterward, locate the leak. It can be in any one of the three areas:

  • From the connection between the piece and the pipe connection
  • From the ceramic cartridges
  • From the outlets

Here is what you can do to resolve the issues:

First Case: check the O-ring seals of the pipe connections and tighten them to the twin mixer

Second Case: remove the lever handles and tighten the check-nuts to see if the leak stops. If not, then replace the faulty ceramic cartridge.

Third Case: lower the lever handle which closes the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If the leak doesn’t stop, then replace the faulty ceramic cartridge.
