Single Bowl Sink Mixer FAQs

Q. What is a single bowl sink mixer?

It is a faucet designed specifically for single-bowl kitchen sinks. It combines hot and cold water through a single spout, allowing you to adjust the temperature with a single brass lever handle.

Q. How does the Solo mixer work?

Hot and cold water enters through their respective tee cocks and then flows through the pipe connections into the sink mixer. Inside the mixer, the water flow is controlled by a ceramic cartridge. To adjust the temperature, you use the lever handle; moving the handle to the left or right will control the flow of hot and cold water.

Q. What are the benefits of single bowl sink mixers?

  • Aesthetic Appeal: These mixers are designed to complement the streamlined look of single bowl sinks. Their compact design helps maximize countertop space and integrates seamlessly into various kitchen styles.
  • Ease of Use: The single-handle design makes it incredibly easy to use. With a simple movement, you can control both the water temperature and flow
  • Versatility: Suitable for a range of kitchen tasks, from washing dishes to preparing food.

Q. Can I use a single bowl sink mixer with a double bowl sink?

While you can technically use the mixer with a double sink, it’s not practical. Double sinks are larger and designed for multitasking, allowing you to use both bowls independently. A single bowl mixer will limit you to using only one bowl at a time, reducing the efficiency and benefits of having a double sink. For optimal use and convenience, a double bowl sink mixer is the better choice.

Q. Can I install a single bowl sink mixer in any kitchen?

Indeed, you can install the mixer in any kitchen, provided that the piping system is positioned under the single bowl sink. Single bowl sinks typically have a standard hole size of 35mm for mixers, so the Solo Mixer can be easily installed in this configuration.

Q. What should I do if I notice a leak in Single Bowl Sink Mixers?

It is best practice to turn off the water supply to the leaked fittings. Water dripping can damage the tiles and marble in kitchens.  Afterward, locate the leak. It can be in any one of the three areas:

  • From the connection between the piece and the pipe connection
  • From the ceramic cartridge
  • From the outlet

Here is what you can do to resolve the issues:

First Case: check the O-ring seals of the pipe connections and tighten them to the solo mixer

Second Case: remove the lever handle and tighten the check-nut to see if the leak stops. If not, then replace the faulty ceramic cartridge.

Third Case: lower the lever handle which closes the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If the leak doesn’t stop, then replace the faulty ceramic cartridge.
