Lever Sink Mixer FAQs
Q. What is a Lever Sink Mixer?
A kitchen lever sink mixer is a faucet that combines hot and cold water flows into a single stream, controlled by a lever. This lever allows users to adjust the water temperature and flow with one easy motion. Thus, providing a more convenient and ergonomic way to manage water in the kitchen.
Q. How does a Lever Sink Mixer work?
Initially, hot and cold water enters from the respective adjustable legs and into the sink mixer. From there, the flow of each side is controlled by using a ceramic cartridge. Next, the flow of hot and cold water can be controlled by simply opening up the lever handle and moving it towards the left or right. Subsequently, the outflow from the cartridge is then diverted towards the spout (neck).
Q. What are the benefits of lever sink mixers?
- Temperature Control: Lever mixers allow for precise temperature adjustments with minimal effort, making it easy to find the ideal temperature quickly
- Versatility: Suitable for a range of kitchen tasks, from washing dishes to preparing food
- One-Handed Operation: The lever mechanism allows for easy one-handed operation, freeing up the other hand for multitasking. This is especially useful when cooking or handling multiple kitchen chores
Q. Can I install lever mixers in any kitchen?
Indeed, you can install the lever mixers in any kitchen, provided that the piping system is positioned above the sink.
Q. What should I do if I notice a leak in lever sink mixers?
It is best practice to turn off the water supply to the leaked fittings. Water dripping can damage the tiles and marble in kitchens. Afterward, locate the leak. It can be in any one of the three areas:
- From the connection between the body and the piping system
- From the 35mm ceramic cartridge
- From the outlet
Here is what you can do to resolve the issues:
First Case: check the connections between the wall body goda and piping system. Replace the washers and tighten the nut
Second Case: remove the brass lever handle and tighten the check-nut or replace the O-ring of the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If either doesn’t work, replace the cartridge
Third Case: lower the lever handle which closes the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If the leak doesn’t stop, then replace the cartridge.
