Concealed Rods FAQs

Q. What are concealed rods?

They are pipes used with concealed wall mixers, where the rods are attached to the plumbing system, with the rod fully visible and a showerhead attached at the other end. Additionally, they can also be used with T-arms where they are tightened to the T-arm.

Q. What material is used in a concealed rod?

SaniTecH uses brass pipes for these rods because brass does not rust and is safe for health.

Q. How different lengths of concealed rods are obtained?

We achieve different lengths by measuring and cutting a brass pipe. Subsequently, we bend these cut pieces to give them the final shape.

Q. What is the measurement of threads on a concealed rod?

A concealed rod comes with standard BSP 1/2 threads at both ends. The thread length on the showerhead side is fixed, whereas the other end can have varying lengths based on the need. When used with concealed wall mixers, the threads are longer, but when used with T-arms, the threads are shorter.

Q. How do I install a concealed rod?

To install a concealed rod, tighten it to the piping system. Make sure that the plumbing has female BSP 1/2 threads.

Q. Are concealed rods durable?

Yes, they are made of brass and are cut from a thick pipe. They don’t bend or break easily.

Q. Can a concealed rod be used with any showerhead?

Yes, most concealed rods are designed to be compatible with a wide range of standard showerheads. Since BSP 1/2 is a standard thread used in showerheads, they are compatible with the rods.

Q. What should I do if I notice a leak in a concealed rod?

First, turn off the concealed wall mixer. Then, detach the rod, wrap its threads with Teflon tape, and reassemble it. This should fix the problem.
