Products Description
SaniTecH offers four types of concealed wall mixers; although the main body is the same, the lever handles differ. The cover plate is made of ABS plastic. The wall mixer body contains two ceramic cartridges: one mixes the hot and cold water, while the other diverts the mixed water to the showerheads through concealed rods or to the spouts.
Concealed Wall Mixers FAQs
Q. What is a concealed wall mixer?
A concealed wall mixer is a wall faucet that mixes hot and cold water and diverts the mixed water to the showerheads and spouts. In essence, it performs the same function as traditional wall mixers.
Q. What is the difference between concealed wall mixers and traditional wall mixers?
The main difference lies in their fitting and appearance. Specifically, concealed wall mixers have components hidden inside the wall, leaving only the mixing controls and spouts exposed. In contrast, traditional wall mixers feature the mixing body and spout as a single unit, with the entire product exposed.
Q. How does a SaniTecH concealed wall mixer work?
In the SaniTecH concealed wall mixer, two ceramic cartridges work in harmony to ensure proper functioning. Firstly, hot water enters from the left side, and cold water enters from the right side. Next, a 35mm water-mixing ceramic cartridge, controlled by the exposed brass lever handle, mixes the two water streams. Subsequently, the mixed water then travels to the 22mm water-diverter ceramic cartridge, which is also used in SaniTecH double bib cocks. By turning the knob clockwise or counterclockwise, this cartridge diverts water to either the showerhead or the spout. Conversely, keeping the knob in the center position closes the cartridge.
Q. What are the benefits of concealed wall mixers?
- Aesthetic Appeal: By hiding the plumbing components behind the wall, these mixers create a clean and streamlined appearance. The exposed controls can be designed to complement the overall bathroom decor, whether it be modern, classic, or transitional.
- Space Efficiency: These mixers help maximize bathroom space. This is especially beneficial in smaller bathrooms where every inch of space counts.
- Smooth Operation: These mixers are designed to operate smoothly, providing precise control over water flow and temperature. This ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience every time the mixer is used, whether it’s for washing hands, taking a shower, or filling a bathtub.
Q. What should I do if I notice a leak in concealed wall mixers?
It is best practice to turn off the water supply to the leaked fittings. Water dripping can damage the tiles and marble in bathrooms. Afterward, locate the leak. It can be in any one of the three areas:
- From the connection between the body and the piping system
- From the connection between the spout and the piping system
- From the connection between the concealed rod and the piping system
- From the 35mm ceramic cartridge
- From the 22mm ceramic cartridge
- From the showerhead
- From the outlet
Here is what you can do to resolve the issues:
First Case: check the connections between the concealed wall body and the 2 incoming and 2 outgoing pipes. Seal them properly
Second Case: tighten the spout to the piping system using the Teflon tape
Third Case: tighten the concealed to the piping system using the Teflon tape
Fourth Case: remove the brass lever handle and tighten the check-nut or replace the O-ring of the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If either doesn’t work, replace the cartridge
Fifth Case: remove the brass knob and tighten the check-nut or replace the O-ring of the 22mm ceramic cartridge. If either doesn’t work, replace the cartridge
Sixth Case: lower the lever handle which closes the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If the leak doesn’t stop, then replace the cartridge.
Seventh Case: lower the lever handle which closes the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If the leak doesn’t stop, then replace the cartridge.
