Products Description
SaniTecH offers three types of concealed basin mixers; although the main body is the same, the lever handles and spouts differ. The cover plate is made of ABS plastic. In addition, the basin mixer body contains one 35mm ceramic cartridge and a spout nozzle. Specifically, the ceramic cartridge mixes the hot and cold water and diverts it to the spout. Conversely, the spout nozzle connects the spout to the body and provides adjustments.
Concealed Basin Mixers FAQs
Q. What is a concealed basin mixer?
A concealed basin mixer is a faucet mounted on the wall that mixes hot and cold water and then diverts the mixed water to the spouts. In essence, it performs the same function as traditional basin mixers.
Q. What is the difference between concealed basin mixers and traditional basin mixers?
The main difference lies in their fitting and appearance. Specifically, concealed basin mixers have components hidden inside the wall, leaving only the mixing controls and spouts exposed. In contrast, traditional basin mixers feature the mixing body and spout as a single unit, with the entire product exposed.
Q. How does a concealed basin mixer work?
In the SaniTecH concealed basin mixer, hot water enters from the underside, while cold water enters from the right side. Next, a 35mm water-mixing ceramic cartridge, controlled by the exposed brass lever handle, mixes the two water streams. Subsequently, the mixed water travels to the spout.
Q. What are the benefits of concealed basin mixers?
- Sleek and Modern Design: These mixers offer a minimalist and uncluttered look, which is highly sought after in contemporary bathroom design.
- Space Efficiency: By hiding the bulk of the mixer within the wall, they free up space around the sink or shower area, making the bathroom feel larger and more open.
- Ease of Use: Concealed mixers are designed for ease of use. The simple controls allow users to adjust water temperature and flow with minimal effort. This is especially important in a bathroom setting, where convenience and simplicity are key.
Q. What should I do if I notice a leak in concealed basin mixers?
It is best practice to turn off the water supply to the leaked fittings. Water dripping can damage the tiles and marble in bathrooms. Afterward, locate the leak. It can be in any one of the three areas:
- From the connection between the body and the piping system
- From the connection between the spout and the body
- From the 35mm ceramic cartridge
- From the outlet
Here is what you can do to resolve the issues:
First Case: check the connections between the concealed wall body and the 2 incoming pipes. Seal them properly
Second Case: tighten the spout nozzle to the body using the Teflon tape and replace the O-rings
Third Case: remove the brass lever handle and tighten the check-nut or replace the O-ring of the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If either doesn’t work, replace the cartridge
Fourth Case: lower the lever handle which closes the 35mm ceramic cartridge. If the leak doesn’t stop, then replace the cartridge
